Keep Your Tattoo Covered
Leave the bandage on for at least 3 hours. If using Tegaderm or Saniderm, you may keep it on for 3-4 days unless advised otherwise.
Wash Your Tattoo
Wash your hands thoroughly and clean the tattoo with a mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Avoid scrubbing and hot water. Wash your tattoo twice a day for two weeks.
Moisturize Well
Apply a thin layer of Bepanthen Tattoo Care Ointment or a tattoo-specific balm after each wash. Avoid petroleum-based products and excessive application.
Protect from the Sun
Avoid direct sunlight for the first 2-4 weeks. Wear loose clothing and apply sunscreen after healing to prevent fading.
Limit Physical Activity
Avoid intense workouts and excessive sweating for 4-6 weeks. Clean your tattoo after any physical activity.
Wear Loose Clothing
Tight clothing can irritate and stick to the tattoo. Choose breathable fabrics.
Do Not Pick Scabs
Let scabs heal naturally to prevent scarring and color loss. Use moisturizer to relieve itching.
Avoid Swimming
Stay out of pools, hot tubs, and natural bodies of water until fully healed (about 2-3 weeks). Showering is fine as long as you don’t soak the tattoo.
